Project Runway: Heidi Klum

I was watching a marathon of reruns of Project Runway. It is still up in the air whether or not the show will come back for another season due to a legal dispute. I like Heidi Klum but I think she should interact more with the contestants. She always dresses well. She has to since the show is about making beautiful, stylish, innovative clothing for women. I like the Bravo show Project Runway. I just feel like the show needs some changes. I mean there is a lack of excitement amongst viewers. Leanne was a great designer and a good person but the season’s ending was just not exciting. I liked Korto’s collection a lot. Kenley’s did nothing for me. I did not like all of the painting. I had seen stuff like that before. I think that Christian Siriano or Jay McCarroll should be new judges for Project Runway. They need to change it up a little bit. I think that Christian especially would bring the drama and the laughs.

Project Runway Season Finale

Project Runway season five is sadly over. However, this season the only drama was centered around Kenley Collins. As every one knows, I am not one of Kenley’s biggest fans because she has a very bad attitude and is disrespectful to her fellow designers, Tim Gunn, and the judges. She only got to the Project Runway finale show because of the drama she brings not her talent. In her final collection, the dress that was entirely painted looked like an over-sized over mitt. I mean I have seen oven mitts that look exactly the same and it is a big turn off.

I really thought the top three designers in the Project Runway finale show should have been Leanne, Korto, and Jerell. I mean Jerell started out pretty mediocre but towards the middle of the competition he showed his stuff and is very talented. Korto Momolu is a very great fashion designer. Her clothes show her cultural heritage and would look great on any woman. The judges main problem was that her collection had some pieces that were over-designed. I think if she had kept it simpler then she might have won the entire competition.

Leanne is the winner of Porject Runway season five. I think she deserved it. I kind of got annoyed with the constant amount of pedals on her clothes but her clothes were well designed. Leanne is quiet and kind of shy but her clothes are very elegant.  I know that she will be very successful because she has a great work ethic and is very grounded and responsible.

I would give this season of Project Runway a C. It wasn’t terribly interesting if you leave out all of the Kenley drama. I mean last season you had Chris March, Christian Siriano, and others who had a loud personality and were very fun to watch. Hopefully, season six will get here soon. I think it’s going to be on Lifetime but that is still pending a court decision. What did you think of this season of Project Runway?

Project Runway Season Finale Part 1…What irks me

Okay, if you watched the Project Runway season finale you might have been as irked as I was. Jerell was aufed. I mean he had just won the previous challenge and had won more challenges than Kenley.I thought the walk off was just a way to decide which two out of these three: Kenlyey, Korto, and Leanne would go to Fashion week at Bryant Park.

The final challenge was to design a bridesmaid dress to go with a wedding gown which had already been made by the designers as part of their fashion week design. Leanne won the challenge. The judges all called out Kenley’s design as being copied from an Alex McQueen dress. Yet, Kenley wasn’t aufed. Isn’t this Project Runway not copy some one else’s wedding dress? The only reason Kenley is in is because she is hated by everyone and constantly runs her mouth to the judges.

The fashion week show at Bryant Park will have these three designers:Korto, Leanne, and Kenley. I hope Korto or Leanne win. If Kenley wins, you will know that the entire show is rigged. What do you think?

Project Runway Season 5 Season Finale

This week the season finale of Project Runway will air. I am sad to see this show end but as they say all good things come to an end. Four designers are left and one will be out before the fashion show at Bryant Park. I personally am rooting for Leanne or Korto. I think both women are incredible designers. Jerell is a good designer but Leanne and Korto have been consistently great all season long. Kenley has a bad attitude and she feels entitled to being in the finale. I really prefer people who are team players. A designer cannot make a living by just being on their own, they need a good reputation and Kenley is ruining hers. Who will make it to Bryant Park? We will see this Wednesday on Bravo! Watch what happens!

Project Runway 10/1 episode

Last night’s episode of Project Runway astounded me. Kenley Collins has an incredibly bad attitude and should have been eliminated from the competition. The only reason she is still on the show is because of her terrible attitude and I think that is unfair.

The  final four designers were supposed to make a dress based on something in nature. Kenlley left her tulle at Mood and kept eyeing everyone else’s, eventually Tim let Kenley go back to Mood and get her tulle.

Jerell won this challenge but no one was eliminated. Every designer when asked who should go to Bryant park said that Kenley shouldn’t go. Kenley badmouthed Korto to the judges and she back talked the judges and still was not eliminated. The final four designers will have a walk off of their Bryant park designs and we will see who is in and who is out!

NBCU Wins Injunction Involving Project Runway

“New York State Supreme Court Judge Richard Lowe has granted NBC Universal a preliminary injunction that bars the Weinstein Co. from moving Project Runway from Bravo, owned by NBCU, to Lifetime next January.

The Weinstein Co. earlier this year struck a deal to move the show to Lifetime beginning with its sixth season. Originally, Lifetime had planned on debuting the show in November, but then moved the premiere to January 2009.

Shortly after Weinstein Co. confirmed its deal with Lifetime, NBCU sued, claiming that it had a right of first refusal to match any offer the producer received for the program. The network claimed Weinstein Co. was in breach of contract because it did not honor that first refusal agreement.

Sources familiar with the situation said that barring a possible settlement between the parties, it would appear that the soonest the show would move — if at all — would be after the case is fully tried.

In a statement, NBCU said it was “pleased that the court granted our motion for a preliminary injunction against the Weinstein Co. The overwhelming evidence demonstrated that the Weinstein Co. violated NBCU’s right of first refusal to future cycles of Project Runway. After hearing all of the evidence, the court issued an order prohibiting the Weinstein Co. from taking the show or any spin-off to Lifetime.”

The Weinstein Co. late Friday issued this statement: “We are glad that the court held that NBCU cannot exhibit the program on Bravo and that court required NBCU to post a minimum $20 million bond. Obviously we will be appealing and remain committed to our partners.”

Lifetime said it would continue to press its case: “We are disappointed with the court’s decision to grant the preliminary injunction against the Weinstein Co. It’s unfortunate that the people hurt most by this ongoing dispute are the loyal fans of Project Runway. In the meantime, Lifetime will pursue all measures to uphold its valid and binding agreement reached with the Weinstein Co. for season six of Project Runway.”

The ruling comes two months after Judge Lowe convened a hearing on the issue. At that hearing, Jeff Zucker, president and CEO of NBCU, and Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of the Weinstein Co., offered colorful and conflicting testimony on the matter.”

This ruling delays the start of the next season of Project Runway. If the two parties do not come to an agreement then the Project Runway season six may be delayed beyond January 2009. I love the show Project Runway. It has drama but at the same time involves very creative designers, creating unique fashion pieces. Tim Gunn charms everyone and mentors the designers in a subtle but informative way. Hopefully, season six of Project Runway will go on as scheduled because it is a great reality TV show. What does everyone think? Will there be a season six of Project Runway or will delaying the start of the show make its appeal to reality TV viewers’ decrease?
