The Teutls from American Chopper recently visited the Gosselins to customize a chopper bike for Jon Gosselin. Mikey visited with the sextuplets and got to play with them. I really enjoy Mikey, he is such a care free guy. You can tell that he understands family dysfunction. The Teutuls wanted to get to know Jon so that they could make him a bike that fits his personality. Kate also got a pink scooter.  I liked the motorcycle that Jon got, it fit his personality and had many special touches.You could also see the tension between Jon and Kate, it is hard to avoid seeing that.

This week on Jon and Kate Plus 8, Kate celebrated her birthday without Jon and went to visit Duff Goldman with her kids and made cakes. I have to say I am a little suspicious about what is going on here. It is like TLC is purposely trying to play up the whole Jon and Kate spend no time together so that people feel bad for Kate. I think Jon is a great dad and you can tell that the media is trying to make him out to be the bad guy. I personally think that it must be hard to be tabloid talk and that Jon deserves a break. I thought it was cute that he put up the swing set again and took his kids on a walk even though Alexis did get injured. I hope that there is some resolve soon but I doubt it because they do get money to make these episodes.

Last night, I watched the season 5 premiere of Jon and Kate Plus 8.I have to say I felt bad for Jon more than I did for Kate. I mean Jon sad that he quit working two years ago to stay home with his kids and he felt bad because he was not working like he used to. He also just wants his normal life back. Kate said that the cameras and fame are not going to stop. Sadly, I think that if Jon wants to be off camera then his marriage to Kate will end because she loves the limelight. I really did not enjoy her bashing Jon for not helping with the party prep, I mean it is like he is only of use to her when he does her errands or chores. The coldness between the two was quite clear especially at the birthday party. I felt bad when Alexis was talking to Jon about the little boy she brought and then said that she wants her daddy to come home. Jon told her that some daddy’s don’t come home because they have to work. He gave her a big hug and a kiss and you can tell that he really does miss his kids.I think maybe he only lives there when Kate is away, but I am not sure. All in all, I thought that this episode showed how fame can screw up your lives, not multiples. I mean yes there is stress but most people would respect their husband’s wishes if he said I want the cameras off and my life back, but that is just me.

Today, Kate Gosselin was on television was on tv and was talking about the rumors that Jon has been seeing a woman behind her back. I think that Jon should be on tv facing down these rumors not Kate. I mean he released a statement but Kate is not the one who was caught doing these things and should not have to be on tv defending him. I actually feel bad for Kate. I know she can come across as controlling and mean spirited towards Jon but no wife should have to see infidelity rumors plastered all voer the media. I saw how it has effected John Edwards’ wife Elizabeth and I can say that Kate deserves better treatment.

Originally, I was not going to comment on this whole Jon Gosselin scandal, but today when I was at the grocery store the story was on the cover of a few magazines so I thought that I would add my two cents. Now, as we all saw from the season finale Jon was not too thrilled about how fame has impacted his personal life.Now if you remember the movie Ed, the same thing happened to him where in fame became too much for him and his family so he decided to stop having his life filmed for reality tv. I personally think that Jon is using the cameras now to end his stint on reality tv. He has been in some hot water in the media before for going out without Kate and this latest scandal only comes a few months after that. I honestly think that Jons not a cheater I just think he wants his old life back.

Last night, I was watching TLC and there was a promo for a Jon and Kate Plus 8 Special with one of the men I believe his name is Steve Thomas from This Old House. Apparently, the Gosselins are going to renovate their house and make it more eco-friendly. I think that eco friendly homes are great if you can afford it though. I hope that this inspires other people to do the same thing. Energy costs are very high; where I live we have electric heat and it costs about five hundred dollars a month during the winter and summer. For those who want to watch the new episode, the promo said that it will be on April 19, 2009 which is exactly two weeks from last Sunday. I do not know if it marks the start of the fifth season but I’d doubt it since they just aired the season finale a few weeks ago.

This week the season finale of Jon and Kate Plus 8 aired. In this episode one thing was clear, Jon wants his privacy back and Kate does not. I think that having a reality show, appearing on Oprah numerous times and writing books and making appearances basically means that you will be treated like a celebrity is. The two kind of go hand in hand because in order to boost ratings you have to be in the public eye. Kate is adamant that there will be a season five and since it is called Jon and Kate Plus 8, I doubt Jon will turn down the offer or the money because there would be no show without him. The kids got to go to a museum like place and touch things and have fun. Kate took them alone because Jon was taking care of his mother who broke her foot. Kate and Jon aid goodbye to their interview set and Kate even wrote on the wall signifying that season four had come to a close.

Last night on Jon and Kate Plus 8, the episode was about the family’s dog Nahla. Apparently, Nahla had swallowed Hannah’s little pony toy and needed surgery to remove it from her stomach. Jon had to take care of the kids for a few days while Kate went on a business trip. He took all eight of the kids to the vet’s to pick up Nahla after her surgery. The veterinarian told the kids that Nahla needed to rest for two weeks and that they need to clean up their toys so that this never happens to Nahla or Shoka ever again. I had three dogs for years when I was growing up, our dog who was outside when my parents were at work swallowed a large stick and needed surgery. My dad always raked the backyard and got rid of sticks and rocks but somehow our dogs would always manage to find a big stick and chew on it even though they both had chew chips. Hopefully, Nahla will not swallow a toy ever again; it is very dangerous for a dog to swallow a toy.The Gosselins need to make their kids keep their toys in a toy box to protect the animals.

Now, as we all know, I watch a reality television blog. However, I watch the Duggars, and the Gosselins who are large families who have reality tv shows. Now, the Duggars have eighteen children and Jim Bob and Michelle are debt free.The Gosselins have eight children and like Nadya Suleman they chose to have fertility treatments and had multiples. The Gosselins asked for donations after their children was born as did Nadya Suleman who gets flack for it. Jon and Kate were unemployed for a while after their sextuplets were born and currently they are doing quite well for themselves because they have a reality show about their sextuplets and now do not hold down full time jobs. The question here is, if Nadya Suleman had a husband or let’s say had been widowed after having her fertility treatments would she still be treated the same way? TLC loves large families and makes many shows about them and we all watch them yet people are now saying that Nadya should not even be allowed to see her eight babies just because she has six other kids and is unemployed. Nadya used her own embryos to have a baby, she did not ask for eight babies it just happened. I think we as a society need to lifte ach other up not put each other down, these eight babies are born and no one has a right to tell you how many kids you should or should not have. We should all just leave the mother alone and let her take care of her family the way that she sees fit.

On last night’s episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8,the Gosselins went back to their old home and packed up all of their personal belongings.They also had the filming lights taken down and had all of the ceilings in the home re-painted. It took a lot of work to get everything together. Kate and Jon had to go through all of their belongings and decide what was trash, what would be donated, and what would be kept. Jon was very sentimental and did not want to throw away anything that his father had given him. He even took apart the swing set that his father had bought for Mady and Cara when they were around eighteen months old. Kate gave the kids balloons, crayons, and paper to play with. The kids loved to run around the old house because there was nothing in their old rooms.I think that packing up a house is a very tough thing to do. It must be sad for the kids to see their house for the last time, but moving is a part of life that everyone has to go through. What did you all think of the newest episode?
