Okay, I have watched every show and special that has aired about the Duggar family from Arkansas. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have eighteen children. They are members of the quiverfull movement which means that they do not use birth control and have as many children as they can. They home school their children. They have a church in their home where other people who are like them come to worship. They are debt free. Their oldest child, who is named Joshua just got married to a twenty year old woman named Anna. I decided that I wanted to kind of compile some comments from around the Internet about the show. This way you can all get an idea of how people besides me view the Duggars and their shows. Now, most of the comments are about how the older girls do too much housework.Others are about how  the Duggars should not have so many children because of overpopulation. Here are two comments that I viewed on the Internet:

 I think the Duggars are amazing. I respect them so much. They are taking care of 16 children. They are not relying on the government to do so, all the children have perfect manners and do their part everyday. I only wish that my brother had been raised that way. He never does any chores and is rude and disrespectful. If they want to put more good people on this earth then by all means. Maybe one of their children will save someone who is going down the wrong path, maybe they are going to change the world. I pray that my family can be that good. As long as they can clothes, feed and keep a roof over their children’s heads I see no harm. I could never care for that many children, but if they can God Bless them.

While I admire the way the Duggars are raising their children (courteous and organized) I think it is irresponsible in this day and age to have so many children. We need to evolve beyond using god as an excuse for how many children we have, take responsibility for our planet. Population control is key to the success of managing our resources for future generations. “God” help us if all the Duggar children breed like rabbits too….more houses, more vehicles, etc. Do they think God will take care of the planet?
