I read that the Real Housewives of Atlanta has been renewed for a second season. Now, maybe we will see Big Papa who was seeing Kim or is off and on with her, who knows. I love Nene a lot. I think that she is the most real member of the cast. I wonder how she is handling the fact that Curtis is not her biological father. I feel bad for her because he was not around very much for her when she was a kid and now she does not even know who her biological father truly is. I do not know how I would deal with it but hopefully she has made peace with it especially since she cannot ask her mother who her father is because her mother is deceased. I have not heard if DeShawn and Lisa will return for a second season. I mean I heard that Eric Snow got a job with NBA tv so maybe they will still show her on the show. I have not heard if Ed Hartwell got a new job in the NFL. Hopefully, we will see a new season soon. I think the Real Housewives of Orange County needs to end soon and then there is the NYC housewives also.

The Millionaire Match Maker will return for a second season on the Bravo network on February 12, 2008. If you have not seen the show, it is about Patti Stanger, who finds women for millionaires to date. I watched the entire first season. I just do not like the show very much. Patti can be rude to the millionaires and she is very judgmental. She treats some of the female potential date candidates like dirt and insulted some of them. I do not get the premise of the show because the women who Patti uses as dates want millionaires for their money. I doubt that these girls actually want to find their one true love, they want a man to support them. She asked one woman if she would give up her career for a millionaire and she said yes, and Patti said that’s good. I mean wouldn’t you want the woman to have her own income to show that she is not a gold digger? Patti is not even married, and you never see her with her boyfriend. I mean if a matchmaker is not married then that throws up red flags for me. I do not know if I will watch the new season. Will you watch?

The Duggars have had their eighteenth baby, yes I said eighteenth. This baby was a few days early but it is a great Christmas present for  the entire Duggar clan. The new baby is a little girl, her name is Jordyn Grace Makiya. I love the new baby’s name. Michelle Duggar had her eighth daughter by c-section. The baby weighed seven pounds and three ounces and was twenty inches long. The Duggars will have a show on December 22, 2008 which will document little Jordyn’s birth. This is amazing, I mean she just gave birth and it will be on television on Monday on the TLC network. I think that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will keep trying to have more children even though I believe Michelle has already had three c-sections. It can be dangerous to have too many c-sections since they cut open your uterus every time. I am very happy for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their entire family, congratulations Duggars! Welcome to the world Jordyn!

Top Chef another super sized episode on Wednesday night. It was a holiday episode. The special quickfire judge was none other than the queen of everything home related, Martha Stewart. She picked Ariane who had made filet mignon and a cauliflower puree as the winner. The chefs were to make food for an amfar Christmas benefit event. I am going to call foul on how the fridge was miraculously left open overnight. Then, Hosea miraculously found enough pork in the kitchen, give me a break.I think they wanted to make drama and did this on purpose. Ariane made six types of deviled eggs, she is lucky she had immunity. The bottom three were: Eugene, Melissa, and Jamie. The top were: Hosea, Radhika,Jeff, and I think Stefan. Hosea was declared the winner. He could not have won without the entire cast. He even told the judges that. The chefs banded together after the food in the fridge spoiled. Tom and the judges were disappointed in the overall quality of the food. No one went home,so you can bet at least two chefs will go next time at judges’ table.

On Tuesday, I watched the new episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County. We met the new housewife whose name is Lynne. She has two teen aged daughter a fifteen year old and a daughter who is eighteen years old in two weeks.She seems like a nice person, not a lot of drama which I am grateful for. Tonight I guess absentee fathers was the topic for the ladies. We saw Ritchie with Colton getting ready for the prom. We also saw Simon taking Kara to the gun range. Should Kara really have a gun at Berkeley? I mean it is a college and I think they are banned.  Gretchen and Tamra went out to lunch together. I like Gretchen a lot she seems like such a nice person, her burlesque party was not my taste, but at least she enjoys her life and loves Jeff and took good care of him. While Vicki, Tamra, and Jeana were at lunch they discussed Vicki’s ex husband  Mike. Jeana defended Mike because Vicki moved from Chicago to California which made it very hard for her kids to have a relationship with their father. Briana seems to have taken it really hard that she has no real relationship with her father. I felt very bad for her. I also felt bad for Tamra who was frustrated when Ryan did not become a California Highway Patrol officer. She really felt like she had raised him poorly and regretted many of her parenting choices. I thought that it was a good episode.

Last night, I watched the holiday episode of Jon and Kate plus eight. I love Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital. They do such great work for ill children. However, I did feel that Jon and Kate Gosselin only traveled to Memphis with their kids because TLC paid for it. Charity is a mind set, and you should do your charity because you want to not because TLC gives you money to.At least we got to see what good deeds Saint Jude’s does. They do not charge parents a single dime for the medical treatments that their children receive. I wish that there was a similar hospital for adults. My family members went broke when they had cancer. Their medical bills piled up day after day. The children at Saint Jude’s get to speak with a life expert that helps them deal with what will happen to them while they are receiving medical treatment. I also do not know how far in advance the episode was shot considering it was a Christmas episode and it aired last night. Hopefully, other people will donate to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital so that it can continue to do great work for children with cancer.

Jon and Kate plus eight is becoming a little bit like scripted television. I frequent many Jon and Kate plus eight message boards. I do not post on them, but I read what the posters have to say good or bad. Last year, a lot of people were commenting and saying that Jon and Kate should have donated their old items from their sextuplets to the community. Jon and Kate had been putting many items to consignment. They had even mentioned going to drop things off at consignment during their attic remodel for the twin girls. They recently had a yard sale to benefit their favorite charity, the charity was also mentioned on their web site. I think that the producers are reading message boards and are telling Jon and Kate Gosselin to do charitable things. They are also doing something charitable for a Christmas episode. I do not think that you should do charitable things because the public wants you to do it. You have to want to do charitable things because you feel like it is important to do. It is just becoming too scripted now. I mean it is just not a show that I tivo, I watch it on marathons on Wednesdays.

This season’s Top Chef has not been that great. I mean we have not seen extraordinary food being produced from the contestants. There is not really one contestant that I think really stands out. I mean Fabio has charm and wit and has won a challenge but I do not know what we can expect from him in the future besides that. Stefan is arrogant and cocky, which annoys me to no end. Jamie also is arrogant which annoys me. I like Carla, she seems pretty cool. Hosea and Leah are all right. Leah has won two quickfire challenges. Pretty much, the rest of the chef contestants are just mediocre and are filler in the middle for the show. I think that the show’s producers are casting for looks and personality over actual talent this year. I have not seen any dishes that I have not seen before on other cooking shows. I think head chef Tom Colicchio also sees the lack of talent and overall effort this season. He wanted to be on a serious show about food but it is more about the drama than the cooking now.

Okay, lately I have been annoyed by some of the things that I have viewed while watching reality television. One, the phrase throwing me under the bus. I hear it all the time on Top Chef and I want it to stop. It is like a talking point for these contestants. I think you have to fight for your right to stay but you also cannot stick it to someone else. I know Bravo loves the drama but I like honesty and integrity. The next thing, is Vicki Gunvalson putting her husband down on television.I mean she is just plain mean to her spouse. She actually took joy in complaining that he shows her no affection when she never shows him any. I hate when people sell their spouse out. The next thing that annoys me is when these housewives buy thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. No one ever talks about saving money, recycling, or being fiscally responsible with your money. I will continue writing about this because many things about reality television annoys me.

This week we saw Lauri Waring Peterson leave the Real Housewives of Orange County. I am pretty sure that  she will be back on the show next season. She seems to harp on Josh’s drug problems. I personally would not exploit my son’s drug addiction on television. I think that Lauri basically wrote Josh off as soon as she met George. She is harping abut taking care of seven kids but her three kids two of who are adults and one who I believe is ten or eleven are not babies. I mean George has a son that does not live with him, Mackenzie is nineteen, and Bria is the same age as Sophie. She did not leave the show to care for her family. George’s kids have a mother. I think this had more to do with her getting a lot of bad press the last few years. I think that the Duggar’s Seventeen Kids and Counting is over for the season. I know they will do a special about Josh’s wedding in January. I think Michelle will have her baby in about two weeks. I like this show and I think that they should add a second season of it.
