The thirteenth season of The Amazing Race began in Los Angeles. The first leg of the race took the racers to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. At the Sandwich Shop, the teams must wheel a traditional vending cart to Praca de Se, where they get their next clue. At the Military Base, teams had to sign in for 1 of 3 departure times: 9am, 9.30am or 9.45am. Teams spent the night in tents. Terrence and Sarah arrived first and got their 9 am sign in time. The detour was called hard way up or soft way down.  In hard way up the contestants must climb a hard stone stair case on their knees and are asked a question at the top- How many steps have you climbed.  During soft way down-the team has to climb down a 240 feet cargo net. The pit stop is in Forte de São Marcelo. Nick and Starr were team number 1 and won a trip to Belize. Anita and Arthur arrived last and were eliminated from the race. Who will win the Amazing Race? We will all have to watch and see what happens.
